Bayern Munich have announced that they have banned The Sun andThe Mirror because of headlines used after their 1-1 Champions League draw with Manchester United.
The German giants have refused to give accreditation to journalists from the two tabloids for the return leg in Munich next Wednesday after they mocked midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Schweinsteiger was sent off in the 90th minute of the game for a foul on England international Wayne Rooney, a decision Bayern manager Pep Guardiola said was "wrong" in his post-match press conference.
Schweinsteiger also appeared to accuse Rooney of diving before he left the pitch, although the United striker has responded by insisting he could have been severely injured by the German’s studs-up tackle. The midfielder will miss the game next week through suspension and will be sorely missed by the Bundesliga club.
The Mirror have been banned for their headline 'You Dirty Schwein' whileThe Sun have also been prevented from attending the game at the Allianz Arena for their headline 'You Schwein'.
