The Executive Director of Abibiman Sankofa Cultural Movement (ASCUM), Mr Freeman Madzi, has appealed to members who benefited from the Poverty Alleviation Fund and defaulted to refund them.
He explained that it was a revolving fund and a continued delay in repayment would deprive others of benefiting from the facility.
Mr Madzi made the appeal at an emergency meeting of Directors of ASCUM at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
The meeting discussed welfare issues, assessing the Millennium Challenge Account facility and prosecution of loan defaulters.
Mr Madzi advised the members, mostly farmers who had defaulted to endeavour to repay their loans to avoid prosecution by managements of rural banks which guaranteed the loans.
He expressed concern at the failure of about 650 members of the movement from 18 branches in Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District, to pay their monthly dues for their operations.
