A hunter's quest for bird meat sent shivers down the spines of residents of Sehwi Wiawso when his gunshot was confused for
a military response to a violent incident.
The man, Akwasi Nimo, who spotted the bird on a tree close to his house pulled his trigger, sending residents nearby running helter-skelter.
They were only calmed down when the news spread few minutes later that it was all a hunter's expedition.
Correspondents told the media elections in the town got off to a good start and ended peacefully on Sunday.
Supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) were spotted at various points sharing meals to signify friendly bonds between the two parties.
But for what appeared to be a semblance of violence earlier in the day, reporters said the elections in the town ended without incident.
