Ghanaian youngster Sarah Nyarko was named the Best Player of the Tournament at the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls' Cup.
The competition, which ended on Wednesday, November 12, saw U20 girls from Benin, Ghana, and Nigeria gather for the regional tournament.
Nigeria finished as winners of the competition, which was only being played for the second time since its inception, having won all of their games in the league format, with Ghana's Black Princesses coming second.
Despite being unable to defend their title from 2023, there was something to cheer for Ghana as Sarah Nyarko was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
The Dreamz Ladies midfielder scored three goals in the competition, the most by a Ghanaian player in the competition.
She featured in all four of the Black Princesses' games, starting three and making one substitute appearance.
She scored twice in the two games against Benin, while also scoring in the 3-1 defeat to the Falconets.
Sarah was also named the Player of the Match in the second fixture against Benin, scoring in the 2-0 win.
The Black Princesses are expected to return to Ghana on Thursday, November 13, with preparations set to continue for next year's FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
