Bank of Africa Ghana invited some of the Black Queens players to their headquarters on Thursday, August 7, 2025, for a breakfast meeting.
The meeting was to recognise the team for their resounding performance at the just-ended Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament, which was staged in Morocco.
Vice Captain Jennifer Cudjoe, Jacqueline Owusu, Nina Norhsie and central defender Susan Ama Duah were the representatives of the Black Queens who were at the meeting.
According to the corporate institution, the meeting was to foster a relationship with the team for the long term while commending the performance of the Queens at the continental tournament.
"We are very proud of you. You played a great tournament and finished in third place, and I wish you all the best for your future, which I am sure you will do even better," Abderrahmane Belbachir, Managing Director of the bank, said.

"Bank of Africa will support you all the time. We are here to support you, and we are very proud of what you did.”
Speaking on behalf of the team, midfielder Jennifer said, "It's incredible to have Bank of Africa invite us into their offices. I don't think this has ever happened.
"We haven't had a welcome from any bank since our arrival from Morocco, so having this opportunity to show up with my teammates was just a great feeling. We appreciate their thoughtfulness and appreciation of what we have done.
"This is very good for us."
The Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Bank of Africa, Leila Pentsil, added the organisation's commitment to promoting the welfare of women.
"When we heard about the success of the team, nobody gave them a chance, but they went and came with bronze," she said.

"So we thought, why not call them as women and as a Moroccan bank to have some conversations, get them to share their experiences and see what we can do to support them in their next activities."
The Black Queens' third-place finish came after beating defending champions, South Africa, on penalties in the playoff game.
