Bolt Food has reiterated the importance of regulatory compliance for food service businesses operating on its platform, encouraging merchant partners in Ghana to ensure they hold valid Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) Hygiene Permits in line with national food safety regulations.
The reminder follows recent guidance from the FDA indicating that food establishments operating without valid hygiene permits risk enforcement actions, including closure.
Bolt Food noted that the communication forms part of its ongoing efforts to support food safety, protect public health, and promote responsible platform operations across Ghana.
Bolt Food encouraged restaurant and food service partners to confirm that their hygiene permits are valid and up to date, begin renewal or application processes where necessary, and keep documentation readily available for inspection.
The company emphasised that compliance not only supports regulatory alignment but also helps build customer trust and long-term business sustainability for merchants.
Speaking on the initiative, Bolt Food emphasised that its role as a platform includes supporting merchants with clear and timely communication around regulatory requirements, while maintaining high safety standards for consumers.
“Food safety is a shared responsibility across the entire ecosystem,” said Bolt Food General Manager, Ali Zaryab. “By encouraging our merchant partners to comply with FDA hygiene permit requirements, we are supporting safer food handling practices, protecting consumers, and helping merchants operate sustainably within Ghana’s regulatory framework.”
Bolt Food reaffirmed its commitment to working collaboratively with merchants and regulators to promote high hygiene standards and ensure a safe, reliable food delivery experience for customers across Ghana.
