The Secondary market activity picked up, with turnover increasing 47.55% week-on-week to GH¢4.07 billion.
Trading, however, remained concentrated in the short-to-medium end of the curve, with the 2027-2030 maturities accounting for 63.68% of turnover at an average yield of 12.43%.
The 2031-2034 segment captured 34.69% at 14.05%, reflecting selective interest in longer tenors.
The post-2035 bonds attracted 1.63% turnover at an average yield of 14.84%.
The September 2030 bond recorded GH¢45.85 million in turnover at a weighted-average yield of 11.94%.
Databank Research expects bond market activity to remain supported in the near term, following Moody’s upgrade of Ghana’s sovereign credit rating to B3 from Caa1.
The upgrade signals improving creditworthiness and reduced sovereign risk, which could strengthen investor confidence and stimulate buying interest in existing bonds.
