The British High Commission in conjunction with the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of Ghana is organizing a public lecture on the New UK Approach To Migration; The Case of West Africa.The public lecture which will be delivered by Mr. Peter Jones, Director of Migration at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), will be held at the Westland Auditorium of the University of Ghana, Legon on Friday November 19, 2010.Early on this year the Queen of England, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, revealed the new coalition government’s policy on UK immigration.The new immigration policy is a points-based system which deals with the demand for skilled labour in the UK and is thought to have helped in streamlining immigration processes in the UK.The lecture is intended to outline the new UK government’s approach to migration with a spotlight on West Africa.Mr. Peter Jones will also answer questions from participants who have concerns.Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
