Embattled Director of the Information Services Department (ISD), Francis Kwarteng, has likened his statement of taking responsibility for the embarrassing blunders in the Independence Day brochures to a brave solider taking a bullet at the war front.
“I took the decision as a solider at the war front” he told his angry staff who say they had no hand in the production of the error-ridden Ghana @59 Independence Day anniversary brochure.
The Director in a meeting with his staff said although he noticed the errors before the parade, he informed his colleague members of the sub-communications committee of the national planning committee, but they could not withdraw the brochures. The sub-committee was charged with the production of the brochure.
But after taking responsibility before his colleagues on the committee, Kwarteng issued a press statement stating that ISD takes the blame for disgracing the nation.
The statement sparked off angry reaction from the staff after social media descended on the ISD and condemned the professional competence of the staff.
