The campaign team of Dr Bryan Acheampong has appealed to its supporters to remain calm and not respond to what it describes as “baseless attacks” from members of the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia campaign in the Ashanti Region.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the team said it had taken note of a press conference held by some youth aligned with Dr Bawumia’s campaign, which allegedly contained “unfortunate insults and false accusations” against Dr Acheampong.
According to the team, the statement released by the Bawumia youth also listed the names of “some unwilling individuals, and even a deceased person,” as signatories — a development it described as deeply regrettable.
“Out of respect for our shared commitment to a united NPP, the values of Dr Bryan Acheampong’s campaign, and following the meeting with Former President Akufo-Addo, where we affirmed the same, we will not dignify these provocations with a response,” the statement said.
The Bryan Acheampong campaign urged all its supporters nationwide to follow suit: “Do not engage, do not respond, and do not return insults.”
Reaffirming its focus on party unity, the team said Dr Acheampong remains committed to “engaging delegates with respect, advancing ideas that strengthen the NPP, and preparing the party for decisive victory in 2028.”
The statement concluded by expressing appreciation to residents of the Ashanti Region — referred to as Asanteman — for what it described as their “massive support” over recent days, and to supporters across the country for their “continued confidence and overwhelming support” for Dr Bryan Acheampong.

The Bryan Acheampong campaign has taken note of a press conference held by youth members of the Dr Bawumia campaign team in the Ashanti Region.
The statement, which included the names of some unwilling individuals, and even a deceased person, as signatories, was laced with unfortunate insults and baseless accusations against the person of Dr Bryan Acheampong, the team said.
Out of respect for our shared commitment to a united NPP, the values of Dr Bryan Acheampong’s campaign and following the meeting with Former President Nana Akufo-Addo, where we affirmed the same, we will not dignify these provocations with a response.
We urge all our supporters nationwide to do the same — do not engage, do not respond, and do not return insults.
Our focus remains on engaging delegates with respect, advancing ideas that strengthen the NPP, and preparing the party for decisive victory in 2028.
We thank Asanteman for their massive support over the last few days and all supporters across the country for their continued confidence and overwhelming support for Dr Bryan Acheampong.
