Two people who were killed in the Gomoa Buduburam accident on Monday have been identified as Mr Philips Essel and Mr Isaac Yeboah, Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Gomoa Buduburam branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union.
The Kasoa District Police Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU) Commander Assistant Superintendent of Police William Gyamfi told the GNA in an interview that three of the victims had also been identified.
They are Akwasi Amissah 42, Tanko Mohammed Zakari, 40, from Buduburam and Naomi Iden, 22, a phone card seller.
A Cesspit tanker from the Buduburam Camp was joining the Winneba/Accra road when it collided with a truck heading towards Winneba.
The tanker then ran into a group of people standing at the roadside near a filling station.
According to Mr Gyamfi, the two GPRTU officials had gone to the roadside to advise a driver who was picking passengers at the roadside instead of the station when they met their death.
He said the drivers of the two accident vehicles have surrendered to the police and are helping in investigations.Source: GNA
