A bus carrying passengers from Bawku towards Bolgatanga under military escort was attacked by unknown gunmen at Bazua in the Binduri district on Monday afternoon.
While it remains unclear if there were any casualties from the attack itself, the ensuing chaos led to the tragic death of a man who was crushed by a speeding military patrol vehicle.

The vehicle was reportedly rushing to Bazua as backup in response to the assault.
The incident comes on the heels of another tragedy in the region—the killing of a woman and her two young daughters in the early hours of Sunday at Tensungo, a suburb of Bawku.

There are fears the tensions in the volatile Upper East region town could be rising again following these latest attacks.
