A businessman from Accra, Felix Akonta Akakpo, has gifted his home community of Lente-Wute in the Ketu South Municipality with two vital infrastructure projects.
A newly constructed police station and a modern Junior High School (JHS) block were officially handed over to the community in a grand ceremony attended by local leaders, law enforcement officials, and residents.
The newly built police station boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a charge office, male and female detention cells, offices for the Station Officer and Criminal Investigation Department, an armory, ultra-modern washrooms, and five self-contained residential rooms for police personnel.

This impressive addition to Lente-Wute is set to enhance security and law enforcement in the area, particularly given its location in a border town.
In addition to the police station, Mr Akakpo handed over a fully equipped JHS block, which complements the primary school block he constructed for the community a year ago.
The new school facilities will offer a conducive learning environment, ensuring that children of school-going age have access to quality formal education close to home.
Speaking at the commissioning of the projects, Mr Akakpo expressed his deep commitment to community development.
He noted that the decision to fund and build the police station was motivated by his desire to ensure the safety and security of his people.

"This modern facility will provide our dedicated police officers with the necessary tools and resources to effectively prevent and detect crime, apprehend offenders, maintain public law and order, and ensure justice is served," he emphasised.
He further highlighted the significance of education for the community's future, underscoring the role of the new JHS block in empowering the next generation.
"This facility will provide a conducive learning environment for our children, empowering them to reach their full potential and become future leaders," Mr Akakpo stated, encouraging the community to strive for excellence and work together toward a brighter future.
The ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries, including DCOP Andrews Boadu-Ekumah, Volta Regional Police Commander, who represented Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police.

In his address, DCOP Boadu-Ekumah commended Mr Akakpo for his contribution, acknowledging the strategic importance of the new police station in combating crime and maintaining law and order along the border area.
He assured the community that the Police Service would make full use of the facility to enhance security and safety.
On the educational front, Mr Francis Yao Agbemadi, Volta Regional Director of Education, praised Mr. Akakpo's selfless dedication to the community’s youth.
He reiterated that education is a powerful tool for societal transformation and expressed gratitude for Mr. Akakpo’s ongoing support.
Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Member of Parliament for Ketu South, also lauded Mr Akakpo’s exceptional generosity, recognising the personal sacrifice involved in funding these projects. She called on the community to make the most of the new opportunities provided.

Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, the Paramount Chief of Aflao Traditional Area, spoke proudly of Mr. Akakpo, who holds the traditional title of Torgbui Tenuvi II, and urged community members to honor his generosity.
He emphasised the importance of sending children to school and showing a collective commitment to education.
Torgbui Fiti V also encouraged the community to embrace the new police station as a step toward a safer and more secure future.
The vibrant commissioning event featured cultural performances that showcased the rich heritage of the region.
Citations were presented to individuals in recognition of their dedication and service to the community, making the day both a celebration of local culture and a testament to the power of individual initiative and community collaboration.
