Assistant coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Emmanuel Kwesi Mensah, says he was disappointed with his side's performance against Omnisports Etincelle in CAF Women's Champions League Qualifiers.
The Ghanaian champions were held to a goalless draw by the Burkina Faso side in their opener in the tournament on Sunday, August 11.
The game which took place at the Bouake Stadium saw the Takoradi-based side struggle to make an impact for the majority of the game.
Speaking after the game, Kwesi Mensah, who is standing for head coach Yussif Basigi (on national duty), believes the discipline of the opponent made it difficult for his side to play.
"This was a game that basically we didn't know the opponent that much so we were very careful as to how to approach it. For the first five minutes, it was very clear that they were a very tactically disciplined team," said the gaffer after the game.
"They had a solid plan, park the middle...even with men's football when the opponent is playing like that, it gets you frustrated so we were not able to get the ball through the middle because of the parked midfield.
"The 0-0 for Hasaacas standard, for me, is not the best because we have once been to this tournament before. we've been champions before and so the expectations were very high. But looking at how the opponent played, I think it was a fair result. They had more chances than us.
"I am very disappointed with the 0-0 but per how the game went I am okay."
Hasaacas will now set their sights on the next game against Edo Queens on Wednesday, August 14.
The Nigerian side picked up a 5-0 win over Niger's AS Garde National in the other Group B fixture.
