CEO of Goodwill International released from jail

The Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill International, Philip Akpeena Assibit, has been released from jail after he satisfied his bail conditions.

He had been in detention at the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons since February 13.

Mr. Assibit is standing trial for allegedly defrauding the state of 4.1 million Ghana cedis.

He and a former coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency, Abuga Pele are facing 19 counts of defrauding by false pretence, wilfully causing financial loss to the state, intentionally causing loss to public property, and abetment of crime.
