The chiefs and elders of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area in the Central Region, have amicably resolved an eight-year old chieftaincy dispute.
This has paved the way for Obrifo Ahinaku Ahor Ankobea II, Paramount Chief of the Traditional Area, to occupy the Palace.
The Omanhene told GNA at Gomoa Assin on Friday that he was happy that all factions in the misunderstanding have smoked the peace pipe to ensure the development of the area.
He said when his predecessor, Okukutan Ahinaku Acquah, who rehabilitated the Palace built by the Traditional Area, died in 2001, his relatives refused to hand over keys to the building, claiming that it was the private home of the late chief.
Obrifo Ankobea said the chiefs and elders were making voluntary contributions to repair the Palace again adding that a new land had been acquired at Gomoa Assin for the construction of a new Palace.
