The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its one week old strike.
The strike was to demand top up allowances which they say should have been included in their salaries, following their migration onto the Single Spine Salary Structure.
CLOGSAG executives signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Nii Armah Ashittey at a meeting in Accra this afternoon on a road map to address their concerns.
Chief Executive Officer of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, George Smith Graham as well as the heads of the Civil Service and Local Government Service also participated in the meeting.
The MOU gave a deadline of 15 November for the Fair Wages Commission and CLOGSAG executives to complete negotiations.
The first meeting between the two sides is scheduled to come off on Thursday.
The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of CLOGSSAG, Samuel Collinson confirmed the suspension of the strike to Joy News after an emergency tripartite meeting on Tuesday.
He was confident with the intervention of the Ghana Employers Association “we think something good will come out of it”.
