Ghanaian real estate investor and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of COD Construction and Engineering Limited, Cwesi Oteng Desmond has been adjudged the ‘Entrepreneurial Icon of the Year’ at the just-ended 2024 African Icon Awards held at the Merit House, Maitama in Abuja-Nigeria.
The recognition symbolises his outstanding contributions towards building the real estate industry and also authenticates his continuous growth and contribution to the African economy by ensuring timely access to quality services for both the public and private sectors.
The awards scheme in its 9th edition is an annual event dedicated to encouraging, appreciating, and honouring young and talented Africans who have excelled in various fields. It also celebrates men and women from across the continent who demonstrate exceptional patriotism, excellence, leadership skills, and talents in areas such as civil governance, the entertainment industry, and technology, among others.
In a media interview after the award, Cwesi Oteng Desmond said it is a testament to his unwavering focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations while adhering to rigorous quality standards in the real estate industry.
According to him, the honour is a win for all his team members who work tirelessly to make sure they deliver precise planning with trusted delivery to his clients. He thanked his team and clients for their support over the years.

He recently collaborated with one of the UK’s biggest real estate investors, Mr Samuel Leeds to give the Diaspora community an in-depth overview of the real estate market in Ghana & Africa.
He has designed and built single-family homes in Accra, which sold out in the last quarter of 2023. Above all his years of experience and great expertise, he loves God and serves in the Holy Hill Assemblies of God.
