Real estate investor and Chief Executive Officer of COD Construction and Engineering Limited, Cwesi Oteng Desmond, has been crowned as Ghana's ‘Unsung Hero of the Year’ for his tremendous contributions towards building the real estate industry at the recently held 7th edition of the Ghana Business Awards, 2024.
The honour underscores his exceptional leadership qualities and distinctive dedication to providing quality homes and consultancy services across the globe.
The ceremony was held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra on the theme; “Business Unity for Climate Impact: Innovating for a sustainable future".

The annual scheme is organised by Globe Productions with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and seeks to identify, honour and celebrate individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of their business sector while recognising the key functions within the sector that promotes growth and sustainability.
The award scheme is also a benchmark of excellence for companies' performance amid challenges.
Speaking to the media, Cwesi Oteng Desmond said the company is committed to creating an "Excellent Experience” through warm hospitality, open communication, and world-class care that resonates with clients and industry peers alike.
According to him, the trophy is a testament to greatness and a motivation to work harder always.
“This is not just a trophy but a great motivation for greatness ahead. After years of hard work, I feel deeply honoured by this recognition. I dedicate this award to Team COD Construction and Engineering Limited members and most importantly, our cherished customers and partners across the globe", he said.

Desmond has over eight years of experience in the real estate industry. He has built a solid brand that has opened him up to the diaspora market and helped most Ghanaians living abroad to buy their homes safely without any challenges.
He has strong communication and marketing skills which enables him to deal with all classes of people. His expertise transcends Ghana’s real estate market to other parts of Africa. He has dealt with reputable international companies like Deloitte, EY, PWC and others.
He won the Realtor of the Year in 2023 at the Africa Real Estate Conference & Expo and was also awarded the Best Company in real estate sales & marketing at the Ghana Property Awards.
He was nominated as one of the best African entrepreneurs “AFRICA 100-2024” by the Pan African Youth leadership. He has won several awards both locally and internationally allowing him to connect with a lot of great minds across the globe.
He is a YouTuber with an amazing YouTube channel, showing homes in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Rwanda & Dubai. He recently collaborated with one of the UK’s biggest real estate investors, Mr Samuel Leeds to give the Diaspora community an in-depth overview of the real estate market in Ghana & Africa.
He has designed and built single-family homes in Accra, which sold out in the last quarter of 2023.
