Coders Who Travel Inc., a global nonprofit organisation that provides financial and operational covering for experts in advanced countries to travel to developing countries to inspire and advance the careers of computer and mathematical programmers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Catholic University of Ghana at Fiapre, Sunyani in the Bono Region.
Led by the founder, Afia Owusu-Forfie, the team from Coders Who Travel Inc. met with the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Daniel Obeng-Ofori, representatives from Faculty and Student Representative Council and other leaders of the university on November 26, 2024.

Ms Owusu-Forfie moderated the session that saw different experts leading presentations on topics including Artificial Intelligence, Rocking Your Profile on LinkedIn, Design Management in Agribusinesses and R Programming and its application to agribusinesses.
In an interview with Ms Owusu-Forfie, she explained that Coders Who Travel Inc. will add more topics under its portfolio and develop them in detail for monthly or bi-monthly coaching sessions with students.
“Our first meeting with the leadership of the university was for them to be abreast with what we have to offer. Also, because of time constraint, we had to summarise some of these topics. In the months ahead, we are looking forward to sessions which go beyond just sharing knowledge but also, practical examples from the various fields,” she explained.
She expressed gratitude to her team, most who are reserved for coming out of their shells to contribute this important partnership.

“It was nice to see them come out of their shells, because typically in the tech industry, most people are introverts. Listening to them combine their knowledge, talents and work experience they have gained was heartwarming,” she added.
Aside her work with Coders Who Travel Inc., Ms Owusu-Forfie, who is also a Lead Scientist (Associate) at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., is a composer and vocalist.
Last year, she out doored “Ngosra No Bubu Nkonnua” the Twi version of an earlier album, “The Anointing Breaks The Yoke” released in November 2022.
Over the years, she has attributed the successes chalked in her career and escape from life challenging experiences to the Holy Spirit.
She said God, through the Holy Spirit has guided her and saved her at the brink of death. For this reason, she continues to acknowledge the God-factor through song ministrations at all her events.
At the Catholic University of Ghana for instance, she performed “But God”, the second track on her English album.
Based in the United States of America, her visit to Ghana last month was primarily to honour the memory of Nana Yere Agnes Afua Serwaa Ababio, the wife of Osahene Kwaku Atekyi II, the Chief Of Kukuom in the Ahafo Region.
At a funeral thanksgiving service held on November 24, she performed "M'aba Wo Nwunu Ase" by Apostle Dr Opoku Onyinah, the fifth chairman of The Church of Pentecost.
Ms Owusu- Forfie acknowledged her maternal uncle, Rev. Ahmed Kwaku Adjei for first sharing the song with her.
Joined by her team from Coders Who Travel Inc. both in person and virtual and some of her close relatives, she launched the Nana Yere Legacy project, a tech project in the memory of the late wife of the Chief.

“The last time I visited Kukuom, I was four or five years old. My mother tells me that were it not for her maternal uncle, a medical doctor- I would have become the Lord's.
“What a trip! Thank you God for speaking "The Anointing Breaks The Yoke " to my heart in June 2018. It is with that boldness you have inspired in me that I was able to push through the fear of going to the Village knowing that Your Angels will absolutely protect me and my crew! I give You all the Glory!,” she stated.
