A Ho High Court in a default judgement has ordered the Global Evangelical Church to return all properties belonging to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana (EP Church).
The Court presided over by Justice Patrick Baye said, Monday, March 14, that chapels and manses including those of Dzelukorpe, Keta, Anloga, Dabala, Akatsi, Teshie-Nungua and Obuasi which are currently being occupied by the Global Evangelical Church should be returned to the E.P Church.
The Global Evangelical Church and the Evangelical Presbyterian had engaged in a fierce fight including physical assault over these properties.
The fight between the two churches begun after the Global Evangelical Church broke-away from the E.P Church due to constitutional disagreements on the terms of office of the moderator and doctrinal differences about 26 years ago.
The Global Evangelical Church took possession of some chapels belonging to the E.P Church after the break-away.
A group of members of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church called Defenders of the Faith of the E.P Church filed a suit at the High Court on August 19, 2015, seeking an order for recovery of all properties.

Leader of the group that took the court action, Fred Goba-Tengey told Joy News that the E.PChurch is happy that “the Almighty God has ruled.”
He added that it is the hope of the E.P Church that the Global Evangelical Church will obey the orders of the court and “obey the request of God that what is Caesar’s must be for Caesar.”
