The Nkawie Circuit court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah has ordered, a tutor of Mpasatia Secondary Technical School in the Atwima-Mponua District to remove a poultry farm from his house at Atwima-Manhyia within two weeks or face sanctions. This follows reports that the tutor, Emmanuel Barnor's farm was causing serious environmental nuisance to his neighbours and other members in the community.Mr Austin Dubick, Atwima-Mponua District Environmental Health Officer, prosecuting, told the Court that on September 20, this year, Environmental Health Officers on their routine inspection discovered that Barnor had constructed hencoops in the house and rearing birds. The health officers detected that, the noise and odour from the poultry, as well as flies and other dangerous reptiles, which invade the house as a result of the poultry, were creating serious environmental and health problems for the people in the area. The prosecutor said Barnor was asked to relocate the farm but he refused to comply.Mr Dubick said after several warnings had failed, a summons was issued to him to appear before the court to answer the charges.Source: GNA
