Fourteen residents of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region have been remanded into Police custody by the Awutu Ofaakor Circuit Court presided by his Lordship Ebenezer Osei Darko.
Set to appear before the court again on April 16, 2020, the residents were arrested for defying the rules of the lockdown announced by President Akufo-Addo.

According to the Police, the fourteen 'recalcitrant' people were arrested at the Kasoa overhead after several police interrogations proved they were only loitering around.

In an interview with Adom News, Kasoa District Police Commander Superintendent Samuel Odame indicated that the fourteen were acting contrary to the provision under the Restrictions Act 10/12 of 2020 hence their arrest and prosecution.
