The Fiapre Circuit Court in the Sunyani West Municipality has remanded three suspects in connection with service pistol theft at the Ahafo North Newmont mine at Kenyase in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region.
A police statement issued said suspects Joseph Blackige, 25 years, Kwabena Dodzi 44 years, and Abraham Adu Yeboah 46 years, were arrested on November 12, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation.
They were charged with stealing and possession of stolen property and they would reappear before the court presided over by Mrs Akuah Adoma Addae on November 28, 2028.
Signed by Chief inspector Thomas Akeelah, a copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency said another suspect, Priscilla Awuni, 18 years had been granted police enquiry bail, assisting investigations.
It said when suspect Dodzie was arrested, he informed the police that suspect Blackige gave him the Beretta GHGP/NHQ/CTD/H78688Z-13 pistol, and the police found six BB cartridges, suspected gunpowder, and as GH₵28,844 during a search on Dodzi’s house.
