Veteran musician and songwriter, Akosua Adjepong says her dancing skills added some uniqueness to her musical career and that it is what has kept her in the music industry for this long.
Speaking on E Vibes with Becky, the 'Frema' hitmaker says her debut album became a household name after the introduction of dancers on the album.
“Way back in Holy Child, because I normally teach people how to dance, I told myself that definitely, with my first album, I have to train people how to dance so that I can bring in something new because I realised that people were not bringing in dancers to dance," she said on JoyNews.
The versatile artiste further explained that "it was just the person standing there, if it is a live show, the person is just singing, if not the person is just miming".
“When I came out with my first album, Frema, Born Again, Mey3 obaa, it was a household name because I came with dancers. Way back in school, because I used to dance, I added my dancing to it and it became something else. So that actually made me unique and made me different. If you going to mention some of the new musicians, that time I was (like) those kind of musicians like my own daughter, Mzbel, Mzvee, Becca and I dressed decently. That is what has kept me all this time."
Indeed Akosua Adjepong is home when it comes to dancing. On stage and on the mic, she copes easily with a variety of dance moves - sometimes with sharp robotic gestures, transitioning the next moment into sleek, deftly dances.
Since taking off in November 2020, some of the biggest global icons in the music and political space have been featured on the E Vibes show on JoyNews and Joy Prime hosted by the exciting Becky who simply “got the Vibes”.
