Akwaaba Magic has premiered 'Date My Family Ghana', the local version of the successful reality television series, on Friday, on DStv CH 150 and GOtv Supa CH 101.
The show is set to give audiences a front-row seat into the journey of singletons trying to find love!
Channel Head of Akwaaba Magic, Kennedy Dankyi-Appah said “Date My Family is a dating show. It seeks to find people with similar interests and match them according to their individual requirements, through a series of three dates with the singleton’s family, all in a bid to get to know the singleton without meeting them.”
“After the three dates, the bachelor or bachelorette will choose their favourite family and go on a date with the singleton that was represented,” he added.
The channel has collaborated with a local production company in Ghana called Ad-visors to produce the first season of the hit reality show in Ghana. The producers are no stranger to the channel, having worked on 'Inside Out' since the launch of the channel in March 2021.
Dankyi-Appah equally expressed his excitement about working with the highly talented crew once again and delivering yet another riveting television format that will keep viewers glued to their screens every Friday evening at 8.30 pm.
“The show is a new concept for the channel and is extremely entertaining, youthful and suitable for the whole family,” he said.

Furthermore, the show is all about the fun and adventure of finding a potential partner and will feature situations that the audience can identify with.
“Our mandate to our viewers is to be Africa’s most-loved storyteller, and MultiChoice has remained true to its commitment in delivering nothing but the best in local storytelling that the audience can relate to,” said Dankyi-Appah.
He further mentioned that he is committed to cultivating and supporting the socio and economic growth of the television and entertainment industry through partnerships with local content curators and cast.
More about Date My Family
Date My Family (DMF) is a dating show with a twist, where bachelors and bachelorettes share a meal with three different families, while their potential partner watches how everything unfolds from a monitor placed in a separate room.
Family speaks volumes about the character of a person and the show explores this fundamental truth by allowing individuals to select a prospective date based on the behaviour of the family, over a meal.
