Public Sector Economist Dr. Henry Jackson of the University of Cape Coast is calling on government to consider decentralizing the production and supply of energy.
He has consequently proposed a national debate to fashion out the decentralization process.
Dr. Jackson’s proposal comes in the wake of the energy crisis facing the country and the search for a way out.
According to the Cape Coast University lecturer, there’s the need for government to source funding to enable individual regions to produce their own electricity depending on their energy requirements.
