The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, received a delegation from the Dagbon Traditional Council, which formally informed him of the passing of Ya-Na Abukari II, the Overlord of Dagbon.
The delegation, led by Nanton Naa Bawa, formally notified Otumfuo of a seventh-day prayer scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2026.
The delegation also informed the Asantehene of the installation of a regent for Dagbon on July 31, 2026, and extended an invitation to the Asantehene to participate in the event.
Among members of the delegation were Pishigu Lana Alhassan, Bamvim Lana Ziblim, and chiefs and elders of the Dagomba Community in Kumasi.
