Mrs. Agnes Chigabatia, Upper East Regional Deputy Minister on Friday issued a directive to all small scale mining associations operating in the Talensi-Nabdam District in the Upper East Region to register their mining concessions to ensure orderliness in their operations.
Mrs Chigabatia gave the directive after a misunderstanding among members of the association on how to share the mining equipment given to them by the government.
The members have been accusing each other cheating and that they do not get access to the equipment equally while a few others say non registered members of the association are rather benefiting.
The Upper East Deputy Regional Minister, who is also the Chairperson of the District Mining Committee, asked the members of the Association to reconstitute the Executive to enable it to handle the issue amicably.
It would be recalled that last year the Ministry of Mines commissioned some mineral equipment to the Talensi-Nabdam Small Scale Mining Association to assist it in it operations.
