The Principal of the Evangelical Presbyterian College of Education, Dr. Dickson Tsey has advised students to desist betting activities.
He explained that betting coupled with other vices are detrimental to the academic progress of students as it would rob them of time and concentration.
Dr. Tsey said this while addressing the 18th matriculation ceremony of the E.P College of Education in Amedzofe in Ho West District of the Volta Region.
“Desist from alcoholism smoking and betting which has become an order of the day”, he said.
He entreated the students to invest their time heavily into their studies and research to acquire knowledge to transform their lives and society.
He advised the students to abide by the College’s Code of Conduct and live exemplary lives, adding “I caution you against any practices that may jeopardize your academic and personal future here.”
Dr. Tsey entreated the students to collaborate with their peers to share knowledge and ideas to enrich their experience, in a bid to achieve academic excellence.
He urged them to believe in themselves as they were crafted with unique talents yet to be unearthed.
“I cherish every moment of your time here. Be resilient, be courageous, and remember that this is just the beginning of a beautiful path. Your potential is limitless, and I am excited to see the incredible impact you will make”, he concluded.

A total of 315 applicants were matriculated for the 2024/2025 academic year with 143 applicants admitted to pursue a Bachelor of Education in Junior High School (JHS), 128 to pursue in Bachelor of Education in Primary Education, and 44 to read Early Grade Education.
Some 32 applicants were also admitted into the Bachelor of Education in Basic Education with a specialization in French.
