The Premier League Board (PLB) has appealed to the Disciplinary Committee (DC) through the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to speed up the rulings of cases lodged on their corridors. The outgrowing number of protracted cases at the door steps of the legislative body has affected the smooth pace of the league, a situation which has compelled the PLB to goad the DC to bark faster. According to PLB Chairman, Welbeck Abra-Appiah, the DC only handled 10 of the 23 cases on their table during the first round of the season. With the second round of the season set to roll this week, there are strong indications that the cases might swell and the PLB is thus urging the DC to hasten with its rulings. "Hooliganism is gradually creeping into the League and as a way of addressing this canker; disciplinary cases, especially those related to misconduct and violence refereed to the DC ought to be decided with dispatch to serve as deterrent to others." On the choice of strips, the PLB Chairman told GNA Sports his outfit would not communicate to Clubs on the option available to them for matches contrary to last season's practice. Abra-Appiah said Clubs are required to go to every match venue with their home and away strips to avert the situation that reared its head during the week six clash involving Berekum Arsenal and Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Golden City Park, Berekum. The game was called off by the match officials after a supposedly clash of colours by the two Clubs. The match which was rescheduled for December 26, however, ended barren. Source: GNA
