The Domestic Airline operators have criticised what they say is the utter disrespect shown them by the Ghana Airport Company.
According to a statement signed by Mr James Eric Antwi, Chief Executive Officer of Starbow, on behalf of the domestic airline operators, the Kumasi runaway has been closed down for days without notification to the airline operators.
That has enormously affected business and more importantly disrupted travel arrangements of passengers, some of whom are connecting flights from Accra, the statement said.
"As stakeholders, we deserve some respect and notification before such move is initiated by your outfit," the statement added.
"We are therefore using this medium to appeal and apologize to our esteemed passengers for this unfortunate situation which is not our making but the negligence of Ghana Airport Company Limited," the statement concluded.

KUMASI RUNWAY CLOSURE
We, the Domestic Airline Operators will like to register our utter displeasure at the unannounced morning closure of the Kumasi airport which started on Friday 17th October, 2014 up till today.
As stakeholders, we deserve some respect and notification before such move is initiated by your outfit. As you are aware, the effect of these unannounced closures has caused our operations greatly. Since we were not informed about these closures, we were unable to inform our passengers. This has caused a lot of inconvenience to our passengers especially some who are connecting flights from Accra, Ghana.
We are therefore using this medium to appeal and apologize to our esteemed passengers for this unfortunate situation which is not our making but the negligence of Ghana Airport Company Limited.
