Pubs and other drinking spots in Kumasi have been worst affected following series of gun attacks and killings in the area.
Two people were gunned down last Wednesday at a drinking spot in Ashtown in what police suspect is a retaliatory attack and with some political undertones.
On Saturday another person said was also shot in the head at the Jack City pub on Saturday.
Two suspected armed robbers have since been lynched after the two incidents.
Residents, some of who spoke to Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor are feeling insecure.
Even though business centres and traders are engaging in brisk business, majority of them have had to close early for fear of being attacked.
Asare Donkor reports that drinking spots in Kumasi have been worst affected in the whole dilemma.
According to him, the many gun attacks and thuggery at some of these drinking bars have forced patrons to reconsider their decisions.
They would rather enjoy their drinks in their homes.
Meanwhile, the police have called for public support in the fight against armed robbery in the region.
ASP Mohammed Tanko who is the Ashanti Region Police PRO said the police cannot be "omni-present" and therefore need information to track some of these armed robbers.
Even though he conceded that armed attacks cannot be entirely be done away with, he said the police is doing everything possible to reduce these attacks to the barest minimum.
