The Education Minister has expressed shock that the Police have not arrested persons whom he says are trespassing at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Wednesday told journalists at the Meet-The-Press series that whoever is claiming to be the rightful heir to the Vice-Chancellor’s seat, must be sworn-in by the mandated authority. “You cannot willy nilly run to a school, go and sit in a school and say you are the Vice-Chancellor...it does not work like that. There is a process that you have to go through,” he said. On Tuesday afternoon, a former Vice-Chancellor of UEW, Professor Mawutor Avoke, stormed the university reinstating himself as Vice-Chancellor.He was accompanied by some staff who had also been dismissed by the university.

We are back to take over our respective offices and right place in the school,” he said.Related: Avoke storms UEW to reinstate self as Vice-ChancellorProf. Avoke and the five dismissed staff held a press conference in the Council Chamber of the university to make their point clear. This comes just hours after the Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of the university filed an application at the high court demanding Prov. Afful Broni.”“Anybody who doesn’t understand that must go through the legal process...We are not going to accept such things...” he stressed.
