3 persons have been accused for being behind Ibrahim Mohammed Kaaka's death

Relatives of three accused persons standing trial for the murder of social media activist, Ibrahim Mohammed, aka 'Kaaka Macho', in Ejura, were disappointed as the Court, for the third time, adjourned the case.

The relatives anxiously waited at the Asokwa District Court complex for the arrival of the three on Thursday, August 12. However, unbeknownst to them, the Prosecutor had asked for the case to be adjourned.

Issakar Ibrahim, also known as, Anyas, Fuseini Alhassan and Iddi Mohammed, were remanded after their maiden court appearance on July 2, 2021.

They were remanded into Police custody, again on July 22, 2021 to reappear on August 12, 2021.

Chief Superintendent, Kofi Blagodzi explained that he prayed the Court to adjourn the case because he is waiting for advice from the Attorney-General's Department on a duplicate case docket.

The Court, presided by Her Worship, Akua Adu Boahen, adjourned the case to September 7, 2021.

Chief Superintendent Kofi Blagodzi later told journalists that the adjournment, will enable the A-G's office to peruse and advise on the case accordingly.

“It has been adjourned to 7th September. We forwarded the duplicate docket to the Attorney-General’s office. They will make their input. They will peruse the docket and advise accordingly. And as we indicated to the Court, we’ve forwarded the docket to the A-G’s office, so definitely, the A-G has to peruse the docket, advise on it and we see the way forward;” Chief Superintendent Blagodzi said.

But relatives of the three accused persons who were in court were disappointed.

Some had gathered at the frontage of the Asokwa District Court complex, perhaps to catch a glimpse of their loved ones, only to be told the case was called in their absence.

With the exception of family of Ibrahim Iddi, who spoke to the media, the rest declined comments and left the Court premises.

Rahinatu Ibrahim, a sister of the late Kaaka Macho, told journalists the family seeks justice for their brother, Iddi Mohammed.

She said the family will take nothing short of that, insisting the family is unperturbed by the adjournments.

Meanwhile, Issakar Ibrahim and Fuseini Alhassan, both known to be New Patriotic Party Polling Station Executives in Ejura, have been without legal representation since their arrest on June 28, 2021, at about10:45 pm.

The three accused persons will re-appear on September 7, 2021.
