An aspiring flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Addai Nimoh has outlined three conditions for the ruling party to win the 2024 elections.
The former Mampong Member of Parliament (MP) believed if the NPP followed these steps it could easily break the 8.
Mr. Addai Nimoh indicated that, the party must be a united front as it gears up for the 2024 general elections.
The NPP stalwart noted that the party’s performance in its 8-year tenure and the flagbearer will be key to voters’ choice during the polls.
“The first one is the internal unity of the members of the party; if your internal unity and strength are weak, then we cannot marshal the maximum force for the external battle,” he said.
"The second factor is based on the performance of the government because it is NPP-led government of Nana Akufo-Addo. The third one is, who will be the face to lead the party,” he explained on Accra-based Asaase Radio.
Addai-Nimoh expressed his optimism about the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
NPP goes to the polls on November 4, 2023, to select a presidential candidate who will lead the party to the 2024 general elections.
Over 210,000 delegates are expected to vote in the National Delegates Conference.
Four contenders - Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, Mr. Addai-Nimoh, and former Agriculture Minister, Akoto Afriyie - will battle it out for the top position.
