The Ho West Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Bedzrah, has exhibited his commitment to improving the standard of education in his constituency by implementing several initiatives and policies.
Aside from providing educational infrastructure and logistics, he annually organizes quiz competitions among Junior High schools to ascertain their readiness for the Basic Education Certificate Examinations, and help prepare them for the final examination.
This year's contest which is the 7th edition saw 4 schools participating for the ultimate prize.
Saviefe Agorkpo DA JHS, Tsito Old JHS, Kpedze Awlime 'B' RC JHS and Dorfor D/A Basic School took part in this year's Ho West Basic Schools Annual Quiz Competition.
At the end of the fiercely contested 5 rounds quiz, defending champions Tsito Old JHS won with 67 points.
They received a laptop, laserjet printer, external hard drive a trophy, and a cash prize of 1,000gh, 80 exercise books, GHC200 presented by The Saints NGO, and citations.

Mr. Bedzrah, who sponsored the Quiz, expressed satisfaction at the performance of the pupils, adding there had been an improvement from the previous edition.
He is optimistic the initiative would positively impact the preparations of the pupils ahead of their final examinations, and promised to continue implementing several of such policies.
This he believes would enhance the production of the requisite human resources which would propel the development of the constituency.
The Ho West District Education Director, Celestine S.A Korsi-Agordo, acknowledged the positive impact of the annual quiz, indicating a winner in the 2019 edition emerged "overall best student in the National Presidential Awards".
She, therefore, appealed to stakeholders to support the initiative to warrant better results.
The first runner-up received a laptop, laserjet printer, external hard drive a trophy, and a cash prize of GHC500, 50 exercise books, and GHC100 from The Saints NGO,
The second runner-up took home a laptop, laserjet printer 50 exercise books and GHC50, while the third runner-up had a laptop, 50 exercise books and GHC50 from The Saints NGO.
Each of the participants were given educational materials to aide their academic activities.
