Mr Felix Owusu-Agyapong, Minister of Energy, has called on stakeholders in the energy sector to ensure that the poor and needy in society enjoyed the 15 per cent tariff subsidy on household energy consumption.
"Energy producers and meter companies must collaborate with the Electricity Company of Ghana to help the ordinary Ghanaian to benefit," he said.
Mr Owusu-Agyapong was speaking at a meeting with a delegation from the Egyptian-based Elsewedy Group, manufacturers of pre-paid and credit meters in Accra.
He said Ghana was nurturing the private sector to facilitate development hence the zeal of government to open up to foreign investors adding they should add value to the energy sector.
He stressed: "Let it be a win-win situation."
Mr Yaw Darkwa, executive vice chairman of the group, said the company would soon expand its operations in Ghana by establishing two more factories to produce products like transmission wires, generators and cables.
