Up-and-coming Business Owners have a new opportunity to equip themselves with contemporary entrepreneurship skills for transforming business concepts into commercial realities.
The Entrepreneurship Advancement Summit 2016 organized by human development outfit, Photizo in collaboration with JOY BUSINESS is to provide the platform. The training workshop under the theme “Kick-Start Ghana” has been scheduled for Saturday, 12th March at the Zenith University College here in Accra.
The CEO of Mindset Networks, Dale Quist who is one of the key resource persons explained the nature of the training and the affiliation with the University College of Entrepreneurship makes the summit unique.
“Beyond just having the conference, participants will be given the chance to be trained and coached at University College of Entrepreneurship. It’s not going to be a session where we only tell you the principles. There are a lot of start-ups coming up but I’m deeply concerned about the long term effect. If the mind-set is just to make money, you make money to a point, get frustrated and vanish from the system. But we are looking at raising a crop of people that think deeper into the future” he said.
“We’ve had a lot of start-ups that came up 10 years ago and they are nowhere to be found now. We also have start-ups that have been around for the past 15 years. This means that there is a legacy that is being left and they are coming with a certain trademark that people will trust for period of time. So instead of we looking at helping people to create start-ups, we are looking at helping the people identify a need that can be sustainable then you can be bold to put your investment into it” Mr. Quist added.
Other resource persons for the summit include Rector of Entrepreneurship Training Institute, by Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa and Kali Gyau (Deal Associate with AgriFund Manager Ltd – a subsidiary of Databank) among others.
The University College of Entrepreneurship is to award Certificates of participation to participants. An Executive Ticket for the event is selling for Ghc60 whilst that for students is Ghc40.
The Entrepreneurship Advancement Summit is an annual training workshop is aimed at galvanising and accelerating the growth of entrepreneurship development in Ghana.
