Family of the man who was allegedly killed by Police at Agbogba on suspicion he was an armed robber has said, they will sue the operation team responsible.

This comes after the autopsy report revealed that Emmanuel Amofa, 27, suffered a broken leg, had his front teeth out and was shot at close range.

“The report showed that he was molested and severely beaten but I don’t know whether it was before or after he was shot,” his sister, Nana Akua Amofa told Joy News.

The family of deceased has been up in arms with the police over the killing of their relative, whom they maintain was innocent.

They want Police Service "to bring out the actual guy who shot him [Amofa].

"That is the one we are after,” Nana Akua maintained.

According to them, he was only a victim of circumstance when the police stormed a pub and, in their bid, to apprehend some suspects.

“All we are asking for is justice for my brother…we want everyone to know that my brother was nowhere near the word, armed robber,” Nana Akua said.

Some eyewitnesses told Joy News the deceased was unarmed at the time he was being chased by the police.

“He was not wielding a gun or any weapon, the police killed him deliberately and allowed the criminals to escape,” one of them said.

Another eyewitness said he saw the late Amofa and the police exchanging words when he told them he was innocent.

“They won’t listen to him and they tortured him until he ran into the building opposite the bar. They shot after him and all I saw later was his dead body being dragged towards the police vehicle,” he added.

But Police have insisted he was part of a suspected three-member robbery gang who were on an operation at Agbogba.
