A 78 year old father and his 55 year old son died on the spot when a severe rainstorm hit Nkwantanan in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District, when a building collapsed on them.
Joy News Correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko said the son had gone to the father's house to provide him food when the unfortunate incident happened.
He said the collapse of the building affected the electricity supply in the area for several hours.
Nyarko said other buildings and roads were also affected badly.
The District Chief Executive William Atta Mends has recommended the renovation of all weak structures in the area.
"Several houses are dilapidated and for that matter not accommodating people. The youth should group themselves and offer communal labour so that they can pull down the houses that pose danger and use the same mud to mould bricks so that the Assembly comes in to assist the owners to rebuild the structure," the DCE said.
He warned there will be disastrous consequences if the youth fail to carry out his recommendation.
