The deceased, identified as Charity Nyarko, 22, was a Kindergarten teacher at the St. Joseph Anglican Preparatory School at Nsuta in the Sekyere Central District. Sources at the education office confirmed the incident but are unable to give details.
According to Nhyira FM's Ohemeng Tawiah, the deceased, who taught at the Kindergarten department of the school, had disciplined a pupil who suffered injury as a result. The family assaulted her last Friday after the incident.
Ohemeng Tawiah said the deceased on Monday together with the headmistress, went to apologise to the family of the pupil but a a furious family member picked up a chair to hit Charity and in her attempt to flee from the scene, she fell into a gutter and died later while being sent to the Mampong Hospital.
Two persons have been arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in the crime, Ohemeng reported.
