The community of Sakora Wonoo is in a state of mourning as the mortal remains of the Former CEO of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie is laid in state.
The funeral rites of the politician, popularly known as Sir John, started this morning at the Sakora Wonoo Junior High School, in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region, where residents of the community have lined up to file past his remains.
Dignitaries, including the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, are expected to be at the funeral to pay their last respects later in the day.

The mortal remains of the affable former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, will later be laid to rest at the Sakora Wonoo family cemetery.

The late Sir John is said to have died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 after a bout with Covid-19.
