People living in Old Fadama, Ghana’s largest shanty town, are currently stuck between a rock and a hard place.
A week ago, fire ravaged parts of the slum rendering hundreds homeless.
This week, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly has razed yet another part in what it says is part of preparations to dredge the choked Odaw Lagoon.
All of this in the middle of a lockdown which has put most of them- largely petty traders and head porters (Kayayei)- out of work.
