Authorities at the Ntonso Adventist Senior High School in the Kwabre District of Ashanti have been forced to send students home after fire destroyed the only dormitory block.
The first floor of the building was completely destroyed with over 200 students having their belongings burnt to ashes.
The Senior Housemistress also lost her property in the fire.
The incident has compelled school authorities to close down the school.
Assistant Headmaster, Alexander Asamoah told Joy News the decision was taken at a crisis meeting attended by the Board Chairman of the School and the Kwabre District Chief Executive.
“The decision we took was that the students should stay home for two weeks subject to review.”
He said “the alternative arrangement we have in place is actually gears towards the form 4s. We are going to convert some of the classrooms to dormitories for the form 4s so that they can stay and then continue with their studies.”
