At least 15 shops were flattened by a wild fire at the Kumasi Central Market on Sunday night, resulting in property worth thousands of Ghana Cedis destroyed.Reports say it took personnel from the Fire Service more than two hours to bring the fire under control.Mayor of Kumasi, Samuel Sarpong and the Regional Minister Dr. Kwaku Agyemang Mensah are expected to pay a visit to the scene of the incident on Monday morning.No casualty was reported but Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor reported that two traders sustained minor injuries in an attempt to salvage some items and a trader collapsed after seeing his shop and wares consumed by the fire.He said some unscrupulous persons took advantage of the mishap and made away with valuable items.The cause of the fire which started at about 9pm is yet to be determined.Listen to some traders wail in the attached audio.
