The Fire Service is advising farmers to seek their assistance in burning materials on their farms especially during the harmattan season.
This it says will prevent fire from reaching other farmlands.
The Meteorological Service has warned the harmattan could get worse in the days ahead.
Public Relations Officer of the Fire Service, Billy Anaglate told Joy News their trained volunteers would build a fire belt to aid farmers who want to do bush burning.
Meanwhile the Meteorological Service is also pleading with farmers to clear their farmlands to prevent bush fires.
