A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta is in tango with the MP for Madina over the siting of a hospital in Madina.
Kojo Opare Hammond said he mooted the idea for a health facility for Adenta whilst in Parliament.
Parliament subsequently approved over $30 million for the project following the inspection of the land allocated.
But Mr. Hammond is now accusing some officials at the Health Ministry of conniving with others within the Madina constituency to relocate the project to Madina.
He told Joy News on Friday he would petition the Health Ministry over the matter because Madina currently has three hospitals with Adenta having none.
“Somehow someway, somebody is trying to manipulate the whole system and manoeuvre to take it Madina,” he alleged.
But the MP for Madina, Amadu Sorogbo, has denied masterminding the relocation of the project to his constituency.
He tells Joy News the health facility being built at Madina was approved by government even before the Adenta constituency was created.
According to him although Madina is an older district, the plan for a hospital for the district has been on the drawing board for almost a decade now.
“I have never lobbied for any project relocated at any part of the country to my constituency or to the district,” he told Joy News.
Mr Sorogbo challenged the former Adenta MP that he has no longer has the power to represent the people of Adenta.
