Some former students of TOPP Preparatory School in the Twifo Praso District of the Central Region have honoured their retired teachers with plaques and cash awards.
The alumni, deeply grateful, acknowledged the pivotal role these educators played in shaping their early years and guiding their paths to success.
Expressing their sincere appreciation, the former students pledged to continue working hard and finding ways to reward their teachers even more in the future.
The retired teachers, who were celebrated with heartfelt speeches, plaques, and cash gifts, also enjoyed a special lunch in their honour. It was a touching moment, filled with gratitude and lasting bonds.
Professor Vivian Boamah, from the Department of Pharmaceutics at KNUST's Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, reflected on the profound joy of reconnecting with those who shaped her early journey, particularly as a recipient of the Head of State Award in the 1996 BECE.

“It’s truly refreshing to look into the faces of those who guided us during our formative years and simply say thank you,” she shared. “Being back where it all began is a blessing.
"We’re thrilled to see them in good health, and we’ll continue to pray for God’s protection and blessings upon them for the knowledge, wisdom, and direction they so generously gave us."

Dr. Foster Ntow, former Head of the Mathematics and ICT Education Department at the University of Cape Coast, expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by their teachers, acknowledging the profound impact they had on their lives.

“It’s a nostalgic and heartwarming experience to return and support the very teachers who shaped us," he said. "They gave so much of themselves, and today we celebrate the seeds they planted in us, with gratitude in our hearts."

He went on to encourage former students to focus their support on the foundational schools that nurtured them. "I urge all alumni to not only focus on their senior high schools but to remember their basic schools. The foundation is crucial,” he added.

Emmanuel Ntow, one of the retired teachers, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the former students for their thoughtfulness and urged current teachers to continue giving their best.

“We are truly touched by this outpouring of love from our students. It’s a wonderful surprise, especially since gestures like this are so rare.
"To have students who not only remember their roots but also appreciate the efforts and sacrifices we poured into their lives is nothing short of amazing.
"We pray that the good Lord will protect them and bless the hands that gave so generously,” he remarked with gratitude.

Daniel Nyame, Managing Director of Twifo Oil Palm Plantation (TOPP), highlighted the significant strides being made by the company’s management to elevate TOPP basic school to new heights.
He shared insights into the ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the plantation's position and ensuring its growth and sustainability for the future.
