Four persons believed to have murdered Yakubu Baba, a 60-year-old hunch-back and cripple, on Monday appeared before a district magistrate court in Sekondi.
The pleas of Alhaji Seidu Apana Nuhu, who claimed to be a businessman, operating at Bibiani and Kumasi, Abdulai Rahman Mohammed alias “Taller” and Halidu Musah alias “Bon” both butchers at Bibiani, and Haruna Abass, a tailor also staying at Bibiani, have not been taken.
The Court committed them to appear before a High Court in Sekondi on February 24.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Albert Deletsa told the court that Baba, cola nuts seller, lived in a kiosk near the Bibiani Abattior.
Prosecution said Abass, a relative of Baba, reported to the police at Bibiani that the deceased was no where to the found.
ASP Deletsa said three days later, the body of Baba was found concealed in a sack at a refuse dump at the outskirt of Bibiani.
Prosecution said the police noticed that a wire was tied around the neck of Baba and the hunch was removed when the sack was opened.
He said investigations led to the arrest of the suspects, believed to have played various roles in the crime, and a vehicle belonging to Musah, allegedly used in the operation, was impounded by the police.
